What I Listen to When Writing

Warm Shadow, by Fink, is one of those songs that helps to inspire creativity.  Right now, as I have just completed the launch party for my first Darkside Codex novel, The Caelimane Operation, I find myself deeply involved in writing the sequel, tentatively entitled The Fae Accord.  Music helps me focus on the task at hand.  It helps me to get the words down onto the screen and into something that is starting to resemble a first draft.

You will see more of these “What I Listen to When Writing” posts in the future as I go through the drafting and revision process.  As always, I hope the music inspires you to write!

  1. I use exactly the same system. I am someway behind you in terms of productivity but I often allow the emotions that swell up in me as I listen to a particular tune or piece of music to inform my writing and imagination. “If I ever lose my faith in you” by Sting is a recent source of inspiration.
