The pre-fall FabFitFun editor’s box comes stocked with items to help you enjoy the last few days of summer. The box costs $49. The total value of the products is $359 retail. So that is a potential savings of $310 if you had purchase these items separately.
Of course, it is only a deal if you like the items. Here are the items from my box starting with the duplicates I had received in the FabFitFun Summer Box:
The first duplicate item is the Michael Stars Ruana. This can be worn as a scarf, sarong, or a shawl. It can function as a beach cover-up or a skirt.
25% of each ruana sold supports Joyful Heart Foundation’s vision to create a world free of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
- 41″ x 72″
- 100% Viscose
This is a limited edition. Other colors/patterns can be purchased at Michael Stars stores.
Note: I am so happy to get another one of these ruanas. A friend of mine loved it when I wore it and I will be gifting it to her. I was going to purchase it for a Christmas gift, but I will be giving it to her next week when we visit because I am a kid at heart and can’t wait.
The BKR water bottle.
It’s cool looking.
It’s glass instead of plastic.
It’s easy to grab-and-go.
Note: I am glad that I received a second one. I was going to purchase this during the Add-On sale at FabFitFun. I actually had it in my online cart when the box arrived. Talk about good timing!
New Items (in no particular order)
Milly Zip Pouch
This is a water-resistant bag. Although its recommended use deals with storing a wet bathing suit after a day at the beach or the pool, I actually find it is a nice size to transport my back up battery and power cords for my phone and tablet.
The water-resistant aspect is a plus in this area for protecting electronics.
RealHer Playbook Eyeshadow Palette 2
I haven’t had a chance to try this yet, although I do like the brand. There will be a review coming in the future.
RealHer advertises itself as natural, cruelty free makeup. The products are 100% free of Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Gluten, and Phthalates.
20% of the profits are donated to charities that empower women.
The palette is advertised as long-wearing, crease-resistant, fade-resistant, buildable colors in textures ranging from velvety smooth matte to metallic sheen. The packaging is unique to FabFitFun. The same colors can be purchased on the RealHer website in their Do Your Squats – Perfect Basics palette that retails for $28.
LUV AJ – The Full Bloom Lariat
This is pretty. It is a dainty lariat-style necklace with open hoop charm and hex-studded crystals. The chain at the top is 18″. The drop extender chain is 6″. It is made from brass and plated with rose gold. Contains Swarovski crystals.
This item sells for $75 on the FabFitfun site and on other legitimate store sites, but a quick search online revealed prices ranging from $30 to $45. Since the lower prices were 3rd party sellers, though, you may not receive the actual product, if you receive it at all. Caveat emptor (buyer beware) when you are not dealing with established stores.
Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Creme
A very long product name! One of these days I will review a product that has a name longer than a paragraph. I can see it coming.
This is a good product to try in the fall, when I start blow drying my hair again. (I let it air dry in the summer.) Colder temperatures in the fall and winter make blow drying a necessity.
The product is fortified with rosehip, argan, and coconut oils. It is Gluten Free, Cruelty Free, and made with Organic Materials. It does not contain sulfates, silicones, phthalates, parabens, DEA, or artificial dyes.
Manna Kadar Lip Locked Stain
This is an interesting product since it’s a primer, stain, and gloss in one. The formula is paraben-free and includes vitamins A and E to help moisturize.
An initial application went well. I am sure I will provide a fuller review in the future.
I am glad they sent a nude color. I will be more apt to use it than a bright red.
And finally . . .
Spongelle Bulgarian Rose Body Wash Infused Buffer
Once again–a very long product name! This product will exfoliate and cleanse all at the same time. It is hypoallergenic with a time-release creamy lather made with extracts of Yuza, Edelweiss, and Vetiver.
Unfortunately this is one product I will not be trying. Even though it is sealed in plastic, the scent is INTENSE. I am gifting it to a friend of mine (my sister-in-law Breene) who does not have my allergy issues and will ask her opinion of it. It does look like it would be fun to try, though, so I may ask her to post a review about it in the future.
That’s it for this box. Let me know in the comments if you received the editor’s box and received different items. Also–let me know if there are any subscription boxes that you recommend.
Disclaimer: This is not sponsored. All items were purchased by me.
Enjoy a brief glimpse into my new novel, Starter Zone, coming this September!
When hydrologists inscribe the consciousness of a human mind onto a single drop of water, a Revelation sweeps the land. The wealthy race to upload their minds into self-contained virtual realities nicknamed Aquariums. In these containers people achieve every hope, dream, and desire. But governments wage war for control of the technology. Terrorist attacks cause massive destruction. The Aquariums fail. Inscribed human minds leech into the water cycle, wreaking havoc.
Street gangs rule the cities in the three years since the fall of civilization. Sixteen-year-old Cami and her younger sister Alby struggle to survive. Every drop of untreated water puts their lives in peril. Caught and imprisoned by soldiers who plan to sell them into slavery, Cami will do anything to escape and rescue her sister. Even if it means leaving the real word for a life in the realms, a new game-like reality created by the hydrologists for the chosen few.
But life in the realms isn’t as simple as it seems. Magic, combat, gear scores, quests, and dungeons are all puzzles to be solved as the sisters navigate their new surroundings. And they encounter more dangerous enemies than any they faced in the real world.
Time to play the game.
