Is there anything coffee can’t do?
I discovered Callyssee Cosmetics on HauteLook and decided to take a chance. I needed a new Micellar Water and the Buffing Beans Coffee scrub sounded interesting. I had a feeling that these products would smell divine (because of the coffee aspect) so I decided to order them.
Coffee scrubs are said to increase circulation near areas of application, improve surface skin cell turnover, and reduce the appearance of bumps and ridges caused by cellulite due to the caffeine in the product.
The Callyssee Coffee Scrub is made from Coffee Robusta ground from the whole bean and blended with Brown Sugar and Vanilla. It also contains Organic Grapeseed Oil, which contains high amounts of omega 6 essential fatty acid, and Coffea Arabica (Organic Green Coffee) Seed Extract.
The scrub does smell heavenly, but it is not overly strong. After using it you don’t smell the coffee on your skin for the entire day (although honestly I wouldn’t mind). It is easy to scoop out with the small, attached spoon. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and smooth.
Will I repurchase? Yes!
Micellar Waters originated in France and are a gentle, one-step, soap-free cleansing product that will help you remove your makeup. It doesn’t rely on a particular ingredient, but rather the notion of infused microscopic molecules called micelles. You simply soak a cotton pad with the Micellar Water and wipe your face. There is no need to rub or tug at your skin. It is gentle enough to use on your eyes.
The Micellar Water I generally use is La Roche Posay. But I am interested in trying out new formulas and the Callyssee Pure Brew Micellar Cleansing Water caught my eye. The product also contains skin-softening Glycerin and Cucumber Extract for an added dose of moisture. Because I have dry skin, I find this to be an added bonus.
I think it cleans just as well as the La Roche Posay Micellar Water. It does not irritate my skin or my eyes. It does not have a distinctive coffee scent, which was disappointing to me, but nice for those who are sensitive to odors.
Will I repurchase? Yes!
If you have tried any skin care products by Callyssee Cosmetics, please let me know in the comments below. I am interested in trying out more of the brand after my experiment with these two items.
