I hope you are looking forward to Fall as much as I am. With the spectacular display of leaves, warm, snuggly sweaters and scarves, and, of course, Halloween–what more could a person ask for in a season?
I purchased a few products to prepare for the change in the weather. I have tried some and I am looking forward to dipping into the others. Here they are in no particular order:
I have to admit that the packaging sold me on this. Living in the Midwest with fall (and winter storms) and generally cold weather, my lips tend to get chapped. I go through a lot of lip balm!
However, it is the dinosaur theme that really sold me. And the fact that they cross out “
bomb” and write “balm.” Too cute!
The only issue with the “tinned” lip balms is the color that inevitably ends up on your finger when you apply it. (I never have a lip brush handy.) Since this is a deep red color, it should be interesting when I apply it more than once.
It does not have a distinctive odor. It feels like a soft gel. It does leave a light tint of color on the lips (and the finger).
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
What can I say–I love the smell of chocolate!
The bronzer is very sheer and works with my skin tone as a contour because there is no “orange” color in it.
Plus it smells like chocolate. (Did I mention that already? Hmmm . . . One more time. Chocolate!)
TARTE’s Sex Kitten
I picked this palette up from the Hautelook sale. I love TARTE eyeshadows and this one looks like it has colors that I will enjoy for fall. Each shadow is smooth, pigmented, and blends very easily.
My favorite TARTE eyeshadow palette is Don’t Quit Your Daydream. I used it throughout the summer. Some of the shades are too light (in my opinion) to compliment my fall wardrobe, although I might use some of those shimmery shades this winter in combination with other palettes for holiday get-togethers.
I also purchased the TARTE Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick at Hautelook during the same sale. It works wonderfully and I even apply it on days when I don’t plan to wear makeup to smooth out the color of my eyelids.
The other products from Soap&Glory, MAC, and Benefit I have yet to try. I will post more on those in the future.
Have you tried any of the products ? Let me know in the comments below.
Do you have any products or brands you would like to see in my next “Buy It and Try It?” Let me know that too!
Disclaimer: This is not sponsored. I purchased all products in the review.
Enjoy a brief glimpse into my new novel, Starter Zone, coming September 25!
When hydrologists inscribe the consciousness of a human mind onto a single drop of water, a Revelation sweeps the land. The wealthy race to upload their minds into self-contained virtual realities nicknamed Aquariums. In these containers people achieve every hope, dream, and desire. But governments wage war for control of the technology. Terrorist attacks cause massive destruction. The Aquariums fail. Inscribed human minds leech into the water cycle, wreaking havoc.
Street gangs rule the cities in the three years since the fall of civilization. Sixteen-year-old Cami and her younger sister Alby struggle to survive. Every drop of untreated water puts their lives in peril. Caught and imprisoned by soldiers who plan to sell them into slavery, Cami will do anything to escape and rescue her sister. Even if it means leaving the real word for a life in the realms, a new game-like reality created by the hydrologists for the chosen few.
But life in the realms isn’t as simple as it seems. Magic, combat, gear scores, quests, and dungeons are all puzzles to be solved as the sisters navigate their new surroundings. And they encounter more dangerous enemies than any they faced in the real world.
Time to play the game.
