I love getting new skincare products. I have my favorites—Bum Bum Cream by Sol de Janeiro, Smoothie Star by Soap & Glory, and Delectable by Cake Beauty—but I like to change and experiment as well. (Experimenting is how we find our favorites after all!)
I purchased a gift set from the Body Shop to try over the holidays. This is the first time I purchased anything from this company and their body butters seemed like a nice place to start. The containers are large enough for several days of use and yet small enough that you won’t be stuck using up a product that you do not enjoy.
Yes—I try to “hit pan” on every product I purchase. Sometimes items are the wrong color or I may be allergic to one of the ingredients. If it truly will not work for me, pass it along to a family member or friend.
All three of the body butters in the set absorbed quickly and did not feel greasy. I applied them to my arms, legs, and hands. They left my skin feeling smooth and soft. The formulas are similar, so it is the scent that made the difference.
Frosted Berries Body Butter
Although it lists cranberry seed oil in the ingredients, this product smells more like vanilla and raspberry to me. The scent is heavy for about 15 minutes. You can smell it faintly for the rest of the day. I would repurchase either as part of a set or on its own.
Frosted Plum Body Butter
This product is scented with plum and hints of pink peony and magnolia. It has a stronger scent than the Frosted Berries and lingers longer. I would repurchase this scent if it were part of a set, but I would not pick it up on its own.
Vanilla Chi Body Butter
I am currently using this body butter and it is my favorite of the set. The scent of vanilla strikes just the right balance. It doesn’t smell like vanilla perfume or artificial vanilla. The cream smells like pure vanilla extract straight out of the bottle. The company states that it uses vanilla extract from Madagascar, cardamom, and star anise. I will most definitely be repurchasing!
The products are listed as cruelty free and the company uses sustainable resources for packaging.
What are some of your favorite products from the Body Shop? Let me know in the comments below. I admit that some of the rose scented products caught my eye. You might be seeing a review of those soon!
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I purchased all of the products discussed.
Starter Zone, the first book of my new YA/LitRPG series, The Revelation Chronicles, is now available in print, e-book, and on Audible.
When hydrologists inscribe the consciousness of a human mind onto a single drop of water, a Revelation sweeps the land. The wealthy race to upload their minds into self-contained virtual realities nicknamed Aquariums. In these containers people achieve every hope, dream, and desire. But governments wage war for control of the technology. Terrorist attacks cause massive destruction. The Aquariums fail. Inscribed human minds leech into the water cycle, wreaking havoc.
Street gangs rule the cities in the three years since the fall of civilization. Sixteen-year-old Cami and her younger sister Alby struggle to survive. Every drop of untreated water puts their lives in peril. Caught and imprisoned by soldiers who plan to sell them into slavery, Cami will do anything to escape and rescue her sister. Even if it means leaving the real word for a life in the realms, a new game-like reality created by the hydrologists for the chosen few.
But life in the realms isn’t as simple as it seems. Magic, combat, gear scores, quests, and dungeons are all puzzles to be solved as the sisters navigate their new surroundings. And they encounter more dangerous enemies than any they faced in the real world.
Time to play the game.
