Gwendolyn Gimmal desperately wants an invitation to the mysterious Gimmal Gala where her family’s coveted ring is bestowed upon new inductees. It’s not that she particularly likes bling, but because she knows it will unlock exciting secrets and reveal what she believes will be her true life’s path. Her younger brother, Gage, also wants to attend the party, but mostly for the food.
Gage Gimmal packed his suitcase for two weeks at magician camp:
-One pair of shorts, check.
-Two t-shirts, check.
-One pair of underwear, check.
-Shaving cream, razor (no blade), solar remote control car, kit of practical jokes, check, check, check, and check.
-(Note to self: buy another pack of blue teeth gum. He had used the last of it on his math teacher, great stuff)
-Toothbrush. He threw marbles in his case instead, check!
He figured had better throw one more pair of underwear in just in case his aunt checked. He grabbed a new white pair. He would bring them, but it didn’t mean he’d have to wear them, he consoled himself. “There, that should do it,” he said aloud to himself. Everything he could ever need for two weeks. There were still a couple of weeks left of school but Gage wanted to pack before Gwen or Aunt Gerri tried to do it for him. They would pack fourteen pairs of underwear and toothpaste, and then there would be no room for what he truly needed. You wouldn’t show up at camp without your firecrackers. That would be like going to school without blue teeth gum, totally unacceptable.
