This is a multi-step dish and requires 3 pans, but the results are worth it!
Ingredients
Sauce:
- 1 chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 bay leaf
Meatballs:
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 2 eggs (well beaten)
- 3⁄4 lb. ground beef
- 1⁄4 lb. ground pork
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1⁄2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 sprig parsley (chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (chopped)
Spaghetti: 1 package (8 oz) and water for boiling
Optional: Grated cheese
Materials
- 1 large saucepan
- 1 skillet
- 1 large pan (for the spaghetti)
- 1 knife
- 1 spatula
- can opener
Directions
Sauce: Mix all ingredients in large saucepan and simmer over medium heat 1 hour or less.
Meatballs: Mix all ingredients together, then form into balls and brown in skillet. (About 15 minutes.)
Spaghetti: Cook 1 (8 oz) package of spaghetti to taste according to directions on the box.
Combine spaghetti, meatballs, and sauce on the plate. Optionally top with grated cheese. Serves 6.
